Coyle hopes for Sturridge deal

6th July 2011 - Sigvard Magnus

Bolton Wanderers football manager Owen Coyle is hoping that he will be able to bring Daniel Sturridge back to the Reebok Stadium.

The English striker was at loan at Bolton last season, where he flourished and scored eight goals in 12 Premier League football games.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Coyle suggested that his friendship with new Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas may help to finalise a deal for Sturridge.

He told the news provider: "We have had dialogue. But when you come into a club, you have got to look at the whole picture and not make pre-judgements.

"I have told him to settle in and have a look and then we will have a chat."

Coyle added that he completed his Pro Licence course with the new Chelsea manager and referred to him as a likable guy.

Bolton have also announced that Ricardo Gardner has signed a new one-year deal, taking him into his 13th season with the club.
