Can Liverpool squeeze back into the top four?
22nd July 2011 - Sigvard Magnus
Football managers across the Premier League will be watching Liverpool's performance in early season football games very closely, following a spate of new quality signings.
Manchester United's Wayne Rooney has hinted that Kenny Dalglish's men will be the ones to watch next season.
Liverpool have secured the signatures of Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing over the summer, and are expected to make a formidable challenge for the Premier League title.
Rooney explained: "I am sure they will be fighting harder than they ever have done to be up there.
"They will think they have a chance of winning the title."
Rooney noted that, with the addition of the now established force of Manchester City, the usual suspects will all be vying for top spot.
"The main threat is going to be from Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City," he told reporters.
United have so far signed Blackburn defender Phil Jones, Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea and Aston Villa's Ashley Young this summer.
