Spurs football manager looking to use Gareth Bale scare tactics
9th March 2011 - Sigvard Magnus
Tottenham football manager Harry Redknapp believes Gareth Bale will strike fear into the hearts of AC Milan players as an impact substitute tonight (March 9th).
The Welshman returned from six weeks out with a back injury during the 3-3 draw at Wolves on Sunday, and football manager Redknapp was clearly hoping to have the 21-year-old available to start against Serie A leaders Milan, over whom Spurs hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg.
However, after so long out of action, it seems Bale is not quite fit enough to complete the full game, so will likely be used from the bench.
But football manager Redknapp is confident that the sight of Bale coming on will be deflating for the Milan players.
"I don't think there is a better left-sided player around. He has got everything. He is 6ft 2in tall, the physique on him is incredible, the pace, the ability to cross the ball, shoot, dribble, head it, he can do everything," he enthused.
Milan warmed up for their game with Spurs with an accomplished 1-0 victory away to bitter rivals Juventus, retaining their five-point lead over Internazionale at the top of the table.
