Football manager Jose Mourinho wary of 'English mentality'
6th April 2011 - Berko Tau
Real Madrid football manager Jose Mourinho says that the "English mentality" means that his club's tie against Tottenham Hotspur is still not over.
The Madrid club took advantage of Peter Crouch's early sending off to secure a convincing 4-0 victory against Spurs, with the second leg of the quarter-final appearing to be a formality next week.
However, having spent just over three years at Chelsea, Mourinho knows that English teams will continue to fight no matter what the scoreline is, so his team must be ready to finish the job.
"I know the English mentality. With the English concept of football, it's not over," he said.
Mourinho also expressed his sympathy for the effect the sending off had on the game.
"I feel sorry because with 11 against 11 the match would be much better," he explained.
Mourinho is aiming to become the first manager to win the European Cup with three different clubs, having previously enjoyed success with Porto and Internazionale.
