Modric valued at over £22 million?

16th June 2011 - Sigvard Magnus

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric has been valued at more than £22 million by his agent, it has been reported.

The Croatian international was one of the London club's most influential players in his football games last season, which has led to speculation over his future and reports that Chelsea have already tabled a bid for his services.

BBC Sport has quoted Modric's agent Nikky Vukan as saying: "Luka is happy at Spurs but if an offer came in that was acceptable to the club and player, we would be willing to discuss it.

"In my opinion, £22 million is a valuation that is too low for the player."

Modric was brought to Spurs in 2008 for £16.6 million and affirmed himself as one of the team's key players.

Tottenham's football manager Harry Redknapp said last month that he has no intention of selling Modric or winger Gareth Bale.
