The winner is named...
When we announced the "Name the Stadium" contest just under a year ago, we were not expecting to have as many diverse and quite frankly hilarious names sent in. Some of the entries were fantastic, some were.. well, less so, and only 10 made it through to the final vote which was held on Facebook over the festive period.
Hundreds of you voted, and after a week or so, it became quite clear that there were two very strong contenders for the crown, "Legend's Park" and "Victory Lane". With only 2 or 3 votes separating them before the January 30th cut off period, it could have swung either way, but in the end, it was "Legend's Park" that held out and was declared the name of the big Stadium in the middle of the Football Superstars World.
It was all very well having a stadium name, what we didn't have was one clear winner as there were 10 people who all entered with the same suggestion – what we needed was a tie-breaker. So we got one. Once the finalists were asked the question, all that remained was to wait and see who would be the one that would be immortalised forever.
Monday morning at 9am came round, and we had a winner – Mr. Geoff King, 23, from Culford near Bury St.Edmunds. Geoff supports Norwich City, and although his avatar, "Geoffking" is very much at the beginning of his career, he promises that be worthy of his prize soon enough..
So on to the prize, how we are going to immortalise Mr. King... well, we are going to build a statue of Geoff somewhere in the world for all to see. We understand that this has never been done before in a video game, so yet another world first under our belts here at CyberSports. When Mr. King was contacted, his reaction was fitting for the prize, he was shocked and said that it was "the coolest thing to ever happen to (him)."
The statue should be erected in the coming couple of months, and with photos provided by Geoff himself, we can ensure that the likeness will be fitting of a man now regarded as a Superstar!
