Stuart Pearce critical of Spain's 'lack of goals'
13th June 2011 - Alma Shera
England Under-21 football manager Stuart Pearce has ridiculed Spain for their lack of goals, despite dominating possession during Sunday's European Under-21 Championship football game.
Manchester United striker Danny Wellbeck leveled the score in the 88th minute, after falling behind through Ander Herrera's goal in a football game controlled by the Spaniards throughout.
However, Pearce suggested that Spain should have made more of their chances.
"If we had kept the ball away from the Spanish team for that period of time over 90 minutes, we'd have maybe won the game 4-0," he said.
"I was sat on the touchline and even though we didn't have possession of the ball, I didn't feel as though the opposition were going to score a goal."
Czech Republic currently top England's Group B, having beaten Ukraine 2-1 yesterday.
