Cole 'committed as ever' to West Ham
18th July 2011 - Berko Tau
Carlton Cole has asserted that he is committed to playing football games for West Ham United amid speculation over his future.
The striker made his first appearance of the pre-season in last week's stalemate with FC Basel and has now suggested that he is prepared for the extensive Championship season.
In an interview on the club's official website, Cole said: "I want our fans to know, unless I am told anything different, I am as committed as ever to the team and getting the club back in the Premier League."
While clubs were rumoured to be interested, no deals were completed, Cole clarified.
In addition, he emphasised that he feels positive and has been working independently as well as with the rest of the West Ham squad.
Cole is also the club's second longest-serving player and played 43 times last season, weighing in with 11 goals.
