This section will take you through the registration, downloading and installation of Football Superstars.
Registration
In order to download and play Football Superstars, you need to be registered. New to the game? Register Now...
Once you have registered, you will be taken to the game download page. Here you can download the Football Superstars client and begin your career. You will also receive a welcome email containing an account verification link, click on this to have FULL account status.
Installation
Click "Play Football Superstars" on the Download Game page. you will be prompted to run the "FS Downloader". This ensures a safe and easy download process and is necessary if you are downloading from the official site. Please follow the instructions on the page.
(Downloading from other sites may not ask you to install FS Downloader)
You will be required to use your Football Superstars login ID and credentials that you signed up with.

Once "FS Downloader" has completed the download, you will be asked where you would like to install the game. By default, the location is C:/Program Files/Football Superstars.
After installation, you will be prompted to choose your graphical settings. Advanced users may at this point want to make minor adjustments to settings such as draw distance, levels of terrain and anti-aliasing levels. If you are in any doubt as to your PC's specifications, you should select the "LOW" setting, and this can of course be changed later on.
Once you have selected your graphical settings, Football Superstars will start and you will be taken to the FS Launcher.

To begin, you'll need to run the Football Superstars Launcher. You can do this simply by opening your start menu and finding "Football Superstars" in the program list or by clikcing on the desktop icon.
Announcements
The Announcements window will give you information about the latest additions to the game with links to find out more on the website.
Logging On
Enter Login ID:
If your account is active, you can Login by typing your Football Superstars Login ID into this field and clicking the Login button.
Enter Password:
You will then be prompted to enter your Password. Once you've done that, click Confirm and you'll be taken to the shard lobby.
Help Buttons
The two help buttons will take you directly to the Technical Support forum at footballsuperstars.com where you will find answers to frequently asked questions and of course, giving you the opportunity to ask about any other issues you may have.
Button Mapper
The controls in Football Superstar have been designed with the player in mind, however we realise that different players have different preferences when gaming. This button will allow you change the keyboard layout to how you want it.
GFX Settings
During installation, you will be given the chance to change the graphical settings depending on your preferences and your machine specifications. If, after installation, you would like to change these, click this button and you will be able to alter resolution and quality settings before entering the game.
Quitting
If you wish to exit the launcher and return to your desktop you can use the Quit button or the X at the top-right of the launcher.
Server Select Screen
Worlds Available
This details all of the available worlds you can join to play Football Superstars. The list gives the name and description of the world, the file size of any patch that may be necessary to play in that world, the maximum population of the world, and the world's current population level.
Back
Clicking Back will take you to the original launcher screen.
Play
Clicking Play will take you into the Football Superstars World.
Patch News
Patch News will take you to information about updates in the latest version of Football Superstars.

If this is your first time playing Football Superstars, the initial screen you will see is the character Creation menu.
Avatar
To the left of the screen is your avatar, the character you will be controlling in Football Superstars. You can customise the look of your player by changing some of the attributes on this screen.
Character Details
First you will need to specify some basic details about your character's identity and appearance, such as their gender and skin colour. Clicking the Body button will give you a variety of options for customising your avatar's face and hair.
The Clothing menu works in the same way as the head menu. Don't forget that there will be many more items of clothing available for purchase within the shops of the Football Superstars world.
Once you are happy with your initial clothing choices, continue to the final menu where you will choose the FS Club you wish to join. Here is a list of teams currently recruiting new players. If you click on a crest you will see a brief excerpt of the club's biography and history to give you an idea of the teams before you opt to join one of them. Random
If you would rather generate a character based on random parameters, you can simply click the "Random" button until you are happy with your player, clothing or Club
Complete My Superstar
You will not be able to proceed into the game if you do not enter a Forename, Surname, and Nickname for your character. The most important of these is the Nickname as this will be the main name your character will go by in the Football Superstars world. This is also the name that will be used in situations ranging from the in-game chat system to the name that appears on your shirt during matches.
After clicking confirm, the game will load and you will enter the world in the clubhouse of your chosen FS Club.
The first steps you should take are to visit the 2 tutorial characters you first see when you first appear in the clubhouse.

This section will take you through the User Interface and help familiarise yourself with the various functions.
Character Information
This is the character information bar. Here you can see your nickname, full name, celebrity rating, player level and the club you are currently playing for.
Nokia Smartphone
Clicking the mobile phone icon in the bottom-right of the radar will launch the interactive Nokia N96 mobile phone, which serves to help you see lots of important information.
This is the Inventory icon and clicking it will show you all of the items you possess, as well as your total FS Dollars and FS Bonds.
Clicking this icon displays the Map of the town you're currently in, in order to help you get around. Clicking on the map zooms out so you are able to see the entire Football Superstars world. Your character is represented by a yellow arrow on the map.
The Match Request button is probably the most important button on the PDA. This is how you find an FS Club game of your choice.
If you experience a technical problem with Football Superstars, you can help us to find out about the issue and ultimately fix it by using the Help interface.
From time to time you will receive FS Mail messages detailing your progress through the game. Messages can include information about your wage and transfers between clubs.
This button brings up your Character Sheet, listing in-depth information about your money, experience, statistics, skills, positional play, and fame.
For information on league standings of all 4 divisions and even your PMC club, click the League button.
Player Search allows you to look up the performance statistics of any other player and even view replays of matches. This can be very useful for scouting players for your player-managed club.
The Friends / Foes system allows you to enter the names of fellow players you befriend so you will be notified when they are in-game. Conversely, the ignore system can be used to block all messages coming from players you don't wish to hear from.
The Exchange can be used to convert any FS Bonds you have purchased to FS Dollars.
This button will open all the PMC functions available to you if you are a member or owner of a PMC.
Clicking on the N-Gage button will allow you to download and trial games made specifically for the N96 and other N-Gage enabled phones.
Call (Green) Button
Regardless of where in the game world you are, clicking this button will take you directly to your FS Team's clubhouse.
End Call (Red) Button
Clicking this button will allow you to select or create another player, or simply to leave the game completely.
Chat Window
This is the chat box you will use to communicate with other players in the world. You can turn the various chat channels on and off by clicking the symbols to the left of the chat box.
Type your message into the text box at the bottom and then press "Enter" to send. Messages will appear in the larger window.
Radar
This is the radar. The central red dot is your position in the world and the arrow next to it indicates the direction you are facing. The coloured dots indicate a non-player controlled character in the world who may be useful to you. In this example the orange dots are tutorial characters, the blue dots are skill trainers, and the green dots are kick-about organisers.

The very first thing you should do as a new player to Football Superstars is visit the 2 tutorial NPCs who will give you a better understanding of the game controls and mechanics.
Football Tutorial
Interacting with this character will launch the Football Tutorial; an interactive training session teaching you the mechanics of football gameplay. It is highly recommended that you complete the tutorial before entering full matches so that you are able to perform well for your team-mates.

Now you've taken your first steps, it's time to go and say hello to that Lifestyle Tutorial character.

It's now time for your first match! This section will take you through the process of finding and joining matches.
Match Request
Click the Match Request button in your PDA menu to open the Match Request menu.
When you first create your character you will only have access to 3-a-side and 5-a-side matches until you have gained some experience. This is to ensure that when you are able to take part in 7 and 11-a-side games, you will have the necessary skill to compete at those levels.
Once you've progressed through the divisions and "unlocked" these match types you will be able to cycle through them in the Number of players option - for now we'll stick with 5.
Match Duration
For match duration you can select from 10, 20, 30, and 40 minute matches. For now let's request a 10 minute 3-a-side match (you might hear this being referred to as a "310" by other players).
Once you have accepted the settings, you will see this box. It confirms the parameters you have arranged for the match, and displays a number of coloured squares.
- Yellow squares represent the AI-controlled goalkeeper.
- Green squares indicate players from your FS Club who are also looking for this type of game.
- Red squares indicate slots that need to be filled before your team is ready to play.
In this case there are 5 squares; one of them is green indicating that one of the five players from your Club team are ready and that 3 more player are needed.
Once both your team and an opposing team from another FS Club are ready to play, you'll be taken to the changing room where you can view the names of your team-mates and opponents. Once you've clicked Ready and taken to the pitch, the rest is up to you :)

The Football Superstars world has many things for players to buy and trade, ranging from drinks in a bar to the latest real world brand football boots that will improve your game on the pitch.
In order to purchase items, you must first have some of the Football Superstars currency, known as "Football Superstars Dollars" or FSDs for short. FSDs are earned from playing games for your FS Club team - beware they are not earned in kick about games!
The amount you earn per game depends on a number of factors, how well you play, how well you keep your position on the pitch, your fame level and of course the result of the match - but note that even losing a game can reap big rewards if you have played your part for the team.
You will also be rewarded for loyalty to your FS Club, and eligible for a bonus at the end of the season if you have played a certain number of games for that team. The more you have contributed and the better the team does at the end of the season, the better the pay.
Every Superstar will start the game with 500 FSDs, but if you find yourself short of these and need a quick cash fix, then help is at hand in the form of FSBs, or Football Superstars Bonds. These can be purchased from the Football Superstars website, added to your game account and exchanged for FSDs within the in-game PDA (Exchange).
The current exchange rate is 1000 FSDs for every 1 FSB.
