The GUI, or Graphical User Interface, is the collection of menus, tools, and buttons that appear on your screen to make your life easier.
When you enter the world for the first time, you will see the standard HUD (head-up display) around the edges of your screen.

Let's look at some of these items in a little more detail.
Character Information
This panel lists your character's full name, their celebrity rating, football level, and the FS Club they play for.
PDA
As you can see, just like a real PDA all of its functions had been neatly tucked away awaiting use. Let's briefly introduce the purpose of these buttons.
Clicking this icon displays the Map of the town you're currently in, in order to help you get around. Clicking on the map zooms out so you are able to see the entire Football Superstars world. Your character is represented by a yellow arrow on the map.
The Match Request button is probably the most important button on the PDA. This is how you find a Club game of your choice.
If you experience a technical problem with Football Superstars, you can help us to find out about the issue and ultimately fix it by using the Help interface.
From time to time you will receive FS Mail messages detailing your progress through the game. Messages can include information about your wage and transfers between clubs.
This button brings up your Character Sheet, listing in-depth information about your money, experience, statistics, skills, positional play, and fame.
For information on league standings of all 4 divisions and even your PMC club, click the League button.
Player Search allows you to look up the performance statistics of any other player and even view replays of matches. This can be very useful for scouting players for your player-managed club.
The Friends / Foes system allows you to enter the names of fellow players you befriend so you will be notified when they are in-game. Conversely, the ignore system can be used to block all messages coming from players you don't wish to hear from.
The Exchange can be used to convert any FS Bonds you have purchased to FS Dollars.
This button will open all the PMC functions available to you if you are a member or owner of a PMC.
Clicking on the N-Gage button will allow you to download and trial games made specifically for the N96 and other N-Gage enabled phones.
Call (Green) Button
Clicking this button will take you to your FS Club Team's Clubhouse, regardless of where you are in the world when you click it.
End Call (Red) Button
Clicking this button will allow you to select or create another player, or simply to leave the game completely.
The Chat Box
Messages that you send will be shown here, as well as any messages sent to you or spoken within earshot in the world. The symbols along the left side are buttons you can click to view different chat channels. In order they are Spatial, Group, FS Club, Private, Player-managed Club, and Help.
Spatial chat is the channel you are likely to use the most as it is the typical "area chat" system. Any messages you send in Spatial chat will be delivered to anyone in the general area around your character, and likewise you will receive messages sent by anyone near you. If Spatial chat isn't already the active channel, you can send spatial messages by prefixing your comments with /s or /say.
The FS Club chat channel can be used to communicate exclusively with members of your FS Club (Fretsby Argyle for example) regardless of where in the world your team-mates may be. This can be useful for arranging matches and celebrating victories. To message this channel quickly without having to fiddle with any buttons, prefix your comment with /fs. The Private Channel
The Private channel is where private messages coming to and from your character will be displayed. You can send a private message to a particular player by typing "/t " - substituting in the necessary information, obviously. If you are familiar with alternative private messaging systems from other games then you may also substitute /t for /tell, /w, or /whisper.
The PMC channel To speak privately with members of your Player-managed Club (PMC) you can use the Player-managed Club channel. Use it to discuss tactics for your next match and pester your manager for a spot in the starting line-up! Simply use the prefix "/pmc" in the chat box.
The Help channel is a good way to find solutions for any problems you have whilst playing Football Superstars. By prefixing your message with /help you can seek assistance from fellow players and official customer services representatives
The Radar
At the bottom-right of your screen is the radar. The red dot in the centre is your position in the world and the green arrow indicates the direction you are facing (i.e. north, south, east, or west). The smaller coloured dots relate to Non-Player Characters (NPCs) and the colour indicates the type of character they are, corresponding with the 3D symbols floating above their heads. For example, using the dots shown on the radar above, the orange dots are Tutorial NPCs, the blue dots are Skill Trainer NPCs, and the green dots are Kickabout Organiser NPCs. The white squares relate to doors that allow you to enter or exit locations.
You will notice that at the bottom of this panel there is the familiar "i" button, but next to it is the PDA switch. Clicking this button will activate the PDA menu bar offering you a range of options.

By clicking the Character Sheet button in your PDA you can access lots of information about your character.
This first panel shows you your character along with the badges of your FS Club and Player-Managed Club if you are a member of one.
Below your avatar is further information on your FSDollar and FSBond totals, character level, amount of experience (XP), and the experience required to advance to the next level.
At the bottom-right of the panel is an arrow allowing you to expand the Character Sheet to display further information of four types - Attributes, Skills, Positional Play and Fame.

|
Attributes

The attributes section shows your character development. More information about each attribute can be seen by positioning your mouse cursor over the one you would like to learn more about.
Skills

The skills section shows you the skills and tricks available to you in Football Superstars. The coloured icons are those that you already own, whereas the ones that are in grey are the ones you don't possess yet. By clicking on the icons you can find out more about how each will help you in a match.
Positional Play

The third tab shows statistics relating to your performance in all areas of the pitch and all match types. You can toggle between which statistics the display shows depending on which match type you'd like information on and over which time period you'd like data from.
Fame

The final panel of the Character Sheet gives information on your character's Fame and interaction with journalists. The function of the information on the right is more fully explained in the Journalists section (Lifestyle guide), but in brief it shows how many minutes you have spent talking with journalists of each type and allows you to the Fame rewards you have attained.

In the Football Superstars world, there are plenty of ways of communicating with friends, team mates and even strangers. One of these is by using "emotes".

Emotes are indications of emotions or actions demonstrated in-game by animations and text descriptions. To use one, simply enter the appropriate command in the chat box. You can also target emotions at other players by right mouse clicking their character in the world before entering the command.
