A million is a pretty big number by anyone's standards... so we are going to celebrate having 1,000,000 players signed up to Football Superstars with a great "Play4Cash" event. The rules are very simple - all you need do is play Football Superstars between the 26th July and the 2nd August for a minimum of five hours, with five matches played, and you will be automatically entered into the $1,000,000 FSD prize draw!

Back in May we announced the FS PMC World Cup event. Even then we knew this was going to be a biggy, as World Cup events have always had great responses. Combine that with the actual World Cup taking place in South Africa and it was sure to generate a lot of interest.
However, even we did not expect the level of response from the community. We received 495 team applications, with over a thousand players involved. From that rather epic response, we were faced with the rather daunting task of whittling it down resulting in us finishing with 39 valid teams and around 500 players.

As football fever grips the planet, one group of players will not be affected by the altitude, the roundness of the ball or the shriek of the vuvuzelas - the competitors of the Football Superstars World Cup.
Fighting for the right to be crowned the best virtual football nation, 40 teams will do battle over a two day long online football fest, hoping to fuse the key elements of teamwork, football know how and of course gaming skill.

After months of anticipation the World Cup has finally arrived. As the first games are kicking off in South Africa we're also seeing the excitement building in Football Superstars as players are gearing up for the various events we have planned.
With only two more days remaining for sign-ups for the FS PMC World Cup event, the managers are busy pulling their players together and getting some practice in for the upcoming event. If you haven't yet got your squad together then check out the World Cup forums to find out how.

Yes folks, the sign-ups for the FS PMC World Cup event are now open. If you need a reminder for how this event will work then make sure you head over to the forum where the original announcement can be found, as well as where the teams are assembling.
Signing up couldn't be easier. Just follow the link below to a form which the manager must complete, giving details on who is in the team and what country you're choosing to play for.

If you haven't yet noticed, we have introduced some new features to the Leaderboard.
Now, players can view all the players in Football Superstars and rank them by country, by PMC, and even by position. We are giving everyone the ability to compare themselves to others, and giving PMC managers, captains, scouts and coaches a clearer view of an individual's skills - ensuring you only pick the best players for your Player Managed Club.

Yesterday saw the release of the new patch, packed full of sweet gaming goodness. This includes the highly anticipated Tournament System, which itself includes Derby mode, allowing for truly even games, and PMC rewards for tournament matches.
Of course, it’s not all about the tournament system. Included in the patch are a host of improvements to the general gameplay. This includes a change to on the ball movement speed and manoeuvrability, a rebalance of LMB kicks and header accuracy.

Once there was just Pele, now we're on the lookout for a brand new superstar. That's right, a new FS World is imminent and we need your help to name it!
We don't just want any local hero, only a true football superstar will suffice (see above).
Give us the name and your reasons for why you feel they are a worthy candidate. Submissions for entry will remain open until May 26th, after which a shortlist will be created and you will get the chance to vote for your favourite. The winning suggestion will receive a shirt of their choice.

We're always proud of our community members in Football Superstars, but there are times when we're blown away by the things they do. One great example is the work Attic has been doing in creating superb web tools.
Not content with creating the Stat Calculator and managing the hugely popular FS Champions League, Attic has been hard at work on his new project, the SCG PMC Listing.
