Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo could miss soccer games
4th March 2011 - Alma Shera
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo could be set to miss some important football games after sustaining and injury in his side's destruction of Malaga.
The Portuguese scored three times as the capital club secured a thumping 7-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu, with goals also added by Marcelo and Angel Di Maria, as well as two from Karim Benzema.
However, immediately after scoring his hat-trick goal, the former Manchester United forward signalled to the bench that he needed to come off.
After the game, he played down the severity of the injury but admitted he could miss soccer games.
"I did it when I scored the third goal but I am sure it's nothing special. It's better not to take risks. I don't think I'll be available for Sunday's match," he said.
Real Madrid's task against Malaga by the visitors' football manager Manuel Pellegrini, who was fired by Real at the end of last season.
Anticipating a difficult match, Pellegrini chose to rest five key players to save them for more winnable football games.
