Nemaja Vidic: Chelsea have the edge over Manchester United
5th April 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Nemanja Vidic says that Chelsea's record against Manchester United in football games at Stamford Bridge gives them the edge in their Champions League clash.
The two clubs meet for the first leg of the quarter-final on Wednesday (April 6th), yet United have not claimed an away win over the Blues in nine years.
Chelsea came from a goal behind to win the recent Premier League game between the two clubs 2-1, with Vidic being sent off late on.
However, the Serbian defender insists that in a Champions League tie played over two soccer games, scoring away from home is the key, not necessarily winning.
Vidic explained: "They have an edge because they had good ones [results] against us.
"But this is the Champions League. The name of the game on Wednesday is to get an away goal."
The clubs' last meeting in the Champions League was the 2008, which United won on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
