25th July 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Manchester City football manager Roberto Mancini is hoping to conclude a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero this week.
The Premier League club are in negotiations with Atletico regarding a transfer for the front man, who did not return to training with the Spanish team over the weekend.
Commenting on the situation, Mancini said: I don't know at the moment. The last news that I heard about Aguero was that the club was talking with Atletico Madrid [before the weekend].
"I think that maybe in four or five days, before the next game, I think that in this week maybe we can close. Maybe."
Mancini also explained that he needs to speak with Aguero, as he wants to know his opinion of playing in Manchester.
Aguero's potential move comes as speculation mounts around the future of Carlos Tevez.
It is widely reported that the Argentinean wishes to leave Manchester City, but he remains at the club.
