John Terry backs Chelsea football manager Ancelotti

12th May 2011 - Sigvard Magnus

Chelsea captain John Terry has publically backed his football manager Carlo Ancelotti, as rumours persist that the Italian could be sacked.

Football manager Ancelotti led his team to a Premier League and FA Cup double in his first season in charge, but his second saw the team lose form dramatically in the middle of the campaign.

The Blues now seem set to end the season without a trophy and reports suggest that owner Roman Abramovich will dismiss Ancelotti.

But Terry says that Ancelotti should be able to stay in west London.

The England captain told the Sun: "He's got my full support. I love Carlo.

"He won the double in his first year and this season the injuries and releasing players has been tough for him."

Chelsea released experienced heads Michael Ballack, Deco, Joe Cole and Juliano Belletti at the end of the last campaign, in a bid to allow some younger players to gain experience.
