Fulham confirm Riise signing

13th July 2011 - Berko Tau

John Arne Riise will now play football games for Fulham after agreeing a three-year deal with the London club.

The defender has arrived from Roma, where he played for three years following his departure from Liverpool in 2008.

Riise made more than 230 appearances for the Merseyside club between 2001 and 2008, gaining experience in both the Premier League as well as the Champions League.

Speaking to the club's official website, Riise said: "I'm delighted to have completed my transfer to Fulham this morning and am looking forward to playing in the Premier League once again."

Riise also commented that he knows of the club's ambitions and is looking forward to working with Martin Jol and the rest of the squad.

Fulham also recently confirmed the signing of Hungarian goalkeeper Csaba Somogyi on a one-year deal, after the shot-stopper completed a successful trial with the team.
