Football manager Roberto Mancini calls for final focus
18th April 2011 - Sigvard Magnus
Manchester City football manager Roberto Mancini has told his players not to get too carried away with their FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester United.
The blues made it to their first FA Cup final in 30 years after beating their arch rivals 1-0, thanks to a goal from Yaya Toure.
However, football manager Mancini was keen to point out that winning the semi-final will mean nothing unless they beat Stoke City and lift the trophy next month.
"We must not forget we play another game. Today we won only the semi-final," he said.
Yet Mancini was keen to point out that he thought the best team won the tie.
"In the second half, we dominated the game. I am happy because we had fantastic spirit and we beat a team like United," he added.
Manchester City now turn their thoughts back to qualification for next season's Champions League, with Premier League football games against Blackburn and West Ham next on the schedule.
