Will Jose Enrique be playing football games for Liverpool next season?
25th February 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Newcastle full-back Jose Enrique could be playing football games wearing a Liverpool shirt next season, if rumours are to be believed.
The Spaniard is top of the Red's list of transfer targets for the summer, after proving a valuable asset to the Magpies in key football games on their return to the top flight this season.
If the deal goes ahead, this would be the second time a key Newcastle player has been snapped up by the Merseyside football manager in the space of a year.
Striker Andy Carroll was famously sold by Newcastle to Liverpool as the January transfer window came to a close, following the sale of out of favour Fernando Torres to Chelsea.
The rumour has surfaced just a week after Enrique hinted that he could be tempted away from St James' Park.
He said: "I want to win things. I'm OK at Newcastle but I aspire to more.
"I love the fans here and suffered with them when we were relegated. But we have to be realistic. Newcastle aren't performing well."
