Van der Sar focuses on Premier League football games

19th April 2011 - Alma Shera

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar says he and his teammates will be able to get over their FA Cup disappointment.

United were knocked out of the competition at the semi-final stage by bitter rivals Manchester City on Saturday.

However, Van der Sar says that United are experienced enough to be able to put their disappointment to one side and concentrate on winning football games in the Premier League.

He said: "It won't be difficult to pick ourselves up. We know how important the league is. We are in first position, so we just have to make the best of it.

"We have played a big number of games in the last three or four weeks and against Newcastle we must do better."

The Red Devils are on course to claim their 12th Premier League title, but despite their dominance in recent years, the side has not won the FA Cup since 2004.
