Taylor makes West Ham move
25th July 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Football manager Sam Allardyce has secured another Premier League signing for West Ham, with the Championship team confirming Matt Taylor will join their ranks from Bolton.
Taylor told the club's official website that he considers the move "a great opportunity", adding that West Ham has a "lot of heritage".
"It is a new challenge for me and obviously I want to be part of something special and, from the outset, it looks like I will find that here," he explained.
According to the 29-year-old, he does not believe he will be playing Championship football for more than one season, suggesting he is confident the claret and blues will be promoted quickly.
The Hammers were the first team to be relegated last season following a 3-2 loss to Wigan Athletic, despite having gone in at half time with a two-goal lead.
However, since suffering the drop they have managed to entice several Premier League names to the club, including Kevin Nolan from Newcastle and Stoke's Abdoulaye Faye.
