Spurs football manager faces uncertainty over transfers
13th May 2011 - Berko Tau
Tottenham football manager Harry Redknapp says he is not sure whether he will have any money at all to spend in the transfer market this summer.
Spurs have a large squad with some high-earners, yet they have failed to qualify for the lucrative Champions League next season and may even miss out on a place in sister competition the Europa League.
Faced with a sharp reduction in income, Redknapp is facing the possibility that he will only be able to spend funds he can generate through sales.
He explained: "I don't know if we have any money to spend. We might not. I have not asked the chairman. We will have to wait and see.
"If there isn't we will get on with it again and be strong next year. The only way we can do it is to shift a few in the summer and bring on or two in."
Spurs bid for European football next season has been hampered by their recent form, which has seen them win just one of their last 13 soccer games.
