Roy Hodgson 'was never wanted' by Reds fans

West Bromwich Albion football manager Roy Hodgson said he "never felt wanted" by Liverpool fans.
Hodgson lasted barely half a season as Liverpool football manager before being sacked and replaced by Reds legend Kenny Dalglish.
As Hodgson prepares to face his former club at The Hawthorns this weekend, he reveals that he never felt like the Reds fans gave him a chance, as they wanted Dalglish all along.
He told the Daily Mirror: "The fans were making it clear they wanted me gone and someone else in … I can't suggest I felt wanted at Liverpool.
"It is not exactly a secret I wasn't perceived by a lot of people as the manager they wanted at Liverpool."
Hodgson was hamstrung in his work at Liverpool by a lack of finances, but new football manager Kenny Dalglish does not have that problem, after the club was sold to American investors in October.
