Reading to meet Swansea in play-off final

18th May 2011 - Berko Tau

Reading will face Swansea City in this year's Championship play-off final after beating Cardiff City 3-0 in last night's (May 17th) play-off semi-final second leg.

Shane Long put Reading ahead with a 20-yard chip, before doubling his team's lead in the 45th minute by slotting home a penalty, which was awarded after Dekel Keinan fouled Matt Mills.

The victory was rounded off in the 84th minute when Jobi McAnuff completed a tremendous 30-yard run before putting the ball in the back of the net.

After the game, Reading football manager Brian McDermott said: "At the back - Matt Mills, Zurab, Griff, Harte, I can't fault them. We defended really well from front to back - we did our jobs and stuck to our gameplan."

Swansea City confirmed their place in the Championship play-off final later this month after they beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 on Monday night (May 16th).
