Rangel commits to Swansea City
29th June 2011 - Berko Tau
Swansea City's Angel Rangel has quietened speculation regarding his future by agreeing a three year-contract to continue playing football games for the club.
The right-back joined the Welsh team from Spanish side Terrassa in 2007 and held a contract that was set to expire at the end of this month.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said: "There has been interest from Premier League clubs in Angel.
"But he is very pleased to have achieved his dream of reaching the Premier League with the club he left his native Spain for."
Jenkins added that Angel has played a big role in the team's recent success, with the club keen to sign him to a new deal.
While securing Range's future, Swansea have also had to hold on to some of their other key players.
Newcastle United recently placed a bid for the club's defender Neil Taylor, which was rejected.
