Phil Jones expected to cost Man Utd 'more than 16m'
10th June 2011 - Sigvard Magnus
Manchester United football manager Sir Alex Ferguson's hopes of landing Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones for just £16 million may face a setback.
Blackburn are reportedly seeking more from the league champions to secure the services of the youngster for football games next season.
Speaking to ESPNsoccernet, a Rovers insider suggested that boss Steve Kean is seeking something closer to £25 million before letting Jones go.
United also have their sights set on securing the services of winger Ashley Young from Aston Villa, who are currently without a football manager following Gerard Houllier's departure due to health problems.
Sir Alex is also believed to be targeting Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder, but securing his services could prove too costly.
The 27-year-old Dutch midfielder has distanced himself from a move away from the San Siro, having pledged his future to the Serie A club in an interview earlier this week.
