Michael Brown joins Leeds
12th July 2011 - Berko Tau
Former Portsmouth midfielder Michael Brown has signed for Leeds United on a one-year-deal, with the option of a 12-month extension.
The 34-year-old was out of contract at the south coast club and concluded the formalities of his transfer in Scotland on Monday afternoon. Once this was completed, he joined up with his new teammates at their Glasgow base.
So far in his career, Brown has made 524 appearances.
Commenting on the move, Leeds football manager Simon Grayson said: "We're delighted to finalise things with Michael. He is a player that I have long been interested in and I'm glad we've been able to sort things out for him to come here."
Brown fits the bill in terms of the quality of player Leeds were hoping to bring in, Grayson also stated.
He is Leeds' second signing of the summer after Paul Rachubka was brought to the club.
