Mario Balotelli to be dropped by Manchester City football manager
18th March 2011 - Berko Tau
Manchester City football manager Roberto Mancini appears to have lost patience with maverick striker Mario Balotelli, following their 2-1 aggregate loss to Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League.
After seeing Balotelli get himself sent-off before half-time for administering a flying kick to the chest and thigh of Dynamo's Goran Popov, Mancini was in no doubt that Balotelli's behaviour cost the team the victory.
"The problem for Mario is that he thinks he could be a fantastic player. But when he does something stupid like that, it is difficult for me, difficult for him and difficult for the team," said Mancini.
City's football manager confirmed that Balotelli will be left out of the squad for this weekend's trip to Chelsea.
It was a bad night all-round for Balotelli, as TV cameras picked up on his inability to put on a training bib before the game.
Seemingly blaming the bib for being in some way defective, the player then struggled in the same manner with a different training top.
