Manchester United have the title, says Ferguson
9th May 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Manchester United football manager Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that his club has managed to secure its 19th championship title.
After beating Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford yesterday (May 8th), United sits six points clear of the Blues at the top of the Premier League, with just two soccer games to go.
The Red Devils do need another point to be officially crowned champions, but football manager Ferguson is confident that his side will complete the formalities.
"Knowing the players, they won't muck it up. They will get the point. There is no doubt about that," he said.
"We take it to the wire all the time. We give these poor souls in the stands heart attacks."
Football manager Ferguson will want to get the vital point next week against Blackburn, in order to give himself plenty of time to prepare for the upcoming Champions League final against Barcelona on May 28th at Wembley.
