Manchester City investigate Mario Balotelli dart claims
29th March 2011 - Alma Shera
Mario Balotelli has provided another headache for Manchester City football manager Roberto Mancini, after it emerged he threw darts at youth team players.
It is alleged that the Italian maverick tried to keep himself entertained at the club's training ground while other players were away on international duty by throwing darts at teenagers.
While nobody was hurt during the incident, Balotelli could well face sanctions from his club.
City officials will also wait to speak to football manager Roberto Mancini, who has been away from the club, about Balotelli's behaviour.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a colourful first season in English football, with some good performances and six Premier League goals mixed in with temperamental behaviour and some disinterested showings on the pitch.
Mancini recently claimed that Balotelli's "stupid" red card against Dynamo Kiev cost them their place in the Europa League quarter-final.
This incident prompted Italy football manager Cesare Prandelli to drop him from this week's international team get-together.
