Man Utd's Patrice Evra signs new contract
22nd February 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract until at least the end of the 2013/14 season.
The 29-year-old joined the club in January 2006 and has so far made 226 appearances in football games wearing the famous red jersey.
Since being signed by the club, he has been instrumental in helping football manager Sir Alex Ferguson and his teammates to three Premier League titles, three League Cups, Champions League and Club World Cup medals.
Commenting after he put pen to paper to seal his new contract, Evra told ManUtd.com: "The fans, the players, the manager and the staff all work hard to make this club the best in the world.
"I've won a lot in the last five years, but I want to win more and I know that's the mentality of everyone here."
Evra will be preparing to face Arsenal in the FA Cup, with the Gunners set to face United if they can overcome Leyton Orient quarter-finals.
