Man United confirm Ashley Young signing
24th June 2011 - Sigvard Magnus
Ashley Young will now play football games for Manchester United after the English champions agreed a deal with Aston Villa.
The 25-year-old can operate as a winger or a second striker and is the Red Devils' second signing of the summer, as Blackburn defender Phil Jones also agreed to join them in recent weeks.
Speaking exclusively to MUTV, Young said: "The opportunity to come and play for one of the biggest clubs in the world is one I couldn't turn down.
"It's a chance to ... hopefully become part of the history by helping to win the 20th title."
Young has been one of Aston Villa's most influential players in recent seasons, making 193 appearances and scoring on 39 occasions for the Midlands club.
Former Manchester United defender Dennis Irwin has already hailed the signing.
Irwin told the club's official website that he expects Young to be a "really good player" for the team.
