Man City frontline 'looks strong' against fragile Notts County
21st February 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Manchester City's football manager Roberto Mancini has signalled his intention to take his team to the final of the FA Cup this weekend, with a 5-0 win over Notts County.
A near full strength Blues' team was fielded for the football game, which saw veteran midfielder Patrick Vieira bag two goals.
The game was never likely to be well balanced, given City's ability to draw on a range of international stars for the game, compared to Notts County.
However, the game did reveal the growing understanding between the Blues' still-developing forward line.
Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko scored a goal each, while Mario Balotelli looked to be adapting well to playing alongside his new Bosnian strike partner.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Dzeko said: "We showed in the second half how we can play together.
"Also, in the first half I played well together with Mario and we understood each other. Everyone could see it."
