Man City cruise past Stoke
18th May 2011 - Sigvard Magnus
Manchester City cruised past Stoke last night (May 17th) with a 3-0 victory that tipped the team ever closer to the coveted third spot in the Premiership.
Carlos Tevez proved that he is past his recent injury troubles by netting twice in an impressive victory that will be sure to impress the team's football manager Roberto Mancini.
The Argentinian's first goal was a tremendous drive after he played a one-two with James Milner on the edge of Stoke's box.
His second goal came in the form of an extraordinary 30-yard free kick that swerved into the corner and left Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen helpless.
In between his strikes, defender Joleon Lescott managed to despatch a header into the net.
Speculation is mounting on the future of Tevez, though Roberto Mancini addressed the issue after the game.
He said: "[Tevez] has a five-year contract and has told us he wants to stay. He said that before. He never had any problem."
