Louis van Gaal: Bayern have blown it again
16th March 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Bayern Munich football manager Louis van Gaal was left fuming after his side were dramatically beaten by Internazionale in the Champions League.
Despite holding a 1-0 lead from the game in Milan, Bayern continued to attack during the home leg, creating numerous chances and leading 2-1 at halftime.
However, Inter clung on and Goran Pandev made the score 3-2 to the visitors in the 88th minute, taking the Italian side through on away goals.
Football manger Van Gaal was fuming after the game, with Bayern having missed so many scoring opportunities.
He said: "We have already thrown away victory four or five times this season and we did it again today.
"Although the opponent had fewer chances, they scored the goals."
The fact that it was Inter who inflicted the damage will have hurt even more, coming less than a year after the Italians beat Bayern in the Champions League Final.
Van Gaal has vowed to stay on as Bayern manager after being told he would be dismissed at the end of the season, despite the Bavarian side having no chance of winning silverware this season.
