Liverpool defensive injury crisis deepens
7th April 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Glen Johnson has become the latest player to join the Liverpool sick list, after being ruled out for four weeks with a hamstring strain.
This will present a major problem for Reds football manager Kenny Dalglish, who is quickly running out of fit defenders.
Johnson's injury came in the game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday (April 2nd), the same match in which Daniel Agger was crocked.
The Danish international will miss the rest of the season's soccer games after suffering tendon damage in his knee, leaving football manager Dalglish with few defensive options.
"We expected the news about Glen but we weren't in a position to make a judgement about Daniel," said Dalglish.
"Unfortunately, the outcome hasn't been very clever. It's a big disappointment not only for us but for the player himself."
Liverpool slipped five points behind Tottenham Hotspur in their pursuit of fifth place in the Premier League with defeat against West Brom.
