Kenny Dalglish: Jordan Henderson has huge potential
10th June 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Liverpool football manager Kenny Dalglish has hailed new signing Jordan Henderson as a star in the making with "huge potential".
The former Merseyside favourite explained that the former Sunderland midfielder is "very mature for his age".
Liverpool signed the 20-year-old for a fee thought to be in the region of £20 million earlier this week, which has seen the Black Cats seeking to spend the cash on adding to their squad.
Dalglish added that Henderson is under no illusions as to the opportunity the Wearsiders offered him.
The Scot noted: "He is respectful and his principles and everything else on and off the pitch are exemplary.
"He loves his football and he is very appreciative of what Sunderland have done for him."
Henderson already has one cap for England at senior level, and was one of the Black Cat's most important players last season, making over 70 appearances for the club in football games throughout his career there.
