Gardner signs new Bolton deal

Ricardo Gardner has agreed to a new one-year contract at Bolton Wanderers.

The Jamaican is about to start his 13th season of playing football games for the club and has accrued more than 400 appearances since arriving in 1998 from Harbour View.

Commenting on the agreement, Gardner told the club's official website: "I have been at Bolton almost my entire career and I wanted to stay here longer. I have been very happy here and so has my family."

Gardner also thanked everyone at the club for the chance to extend his contract, and discussed his excitement for the new season.

He emphasised that it will be a "big season", which he wants to make sure he enjoys.

Recently, Bolton confirmed the signing of Darren Pratley from Swansea City.

The midfielder has agreed to a four-year deal with the club, after scoring 31 goals in 199 appearances for Swansea.
