Football manager Mancini does not respect me, says Adebayor
13th May 2011 - Chad Lazarus
On-loan Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor has spoken openly about the breakdown of his relationship with football manager Roberto Mancini.
The Togo forward does not believe he can have a future at Manchester City, as football manager Mancini does not show him respect, he told the BBC.
Adebayor claims the relationship snapped when he was brought on with 15 seconds to go of a game against Manchester United. The player accused Mancini of a lack of respect and from then on, the pair did not speak.
He goes on to explain that current boss Jose Mourinho is the best he has ever worked for.
"I'm not a regular starter [at Real], sometimes I'm on the bench, but at the end of the day I know what he wants me to do, what he's expecting from me - not like a manager who forgets you," Adebayor explained.
Adebayor is one of a number of players expected to leave Manchester City in the summer, including Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz and Wayne Bridge.
