Football manager Jose Mourinho happy to be a title winner
21st April 2011 - Chad Lazarus
Real Madrid football manager Jose Mourinho was delighted to secure his first trophy with the club by beating arch rivals Barcelona in the Copa del Rey.
A 103rd-minute header from former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo was enough to give Mourinho's men a slender victory in Valencia.
After the game, Mourinho responded to criticism from former Barcelona football manager Johan Cruyff, who said the Portuguese is not a football coach, just a title winner.
"Winning titles is wining titles, it's always good. Only a few days ago someone called me a coach who wins titles and not football. Thank you. I like being a coach who wins titles," he said.
Mourinho's players were effusive with their praise for their boss, with defender Sergio Ramos describing him as the "captain of our ship", adding that that the squad is "with him to their death".
Real will face Barcelona a further two times in the coming weeks, as they meet in the semi-final of the champions League.
