Football manager Capello 'has backing of players'
25th March 2011 - Berko Tau
England football manager Fabio Capello has the full backing of his players, despite reports to the contrary.
After an unsuccessful World Cup in South Africa, there were suggestions that some of the England squad had grown disillusioned with Capello's methods and lost confidence in his ability to guide the team.
However, midfielder Gareth Barry denies this is the case, insisting that the players still have the utmost respect for football manager Capello and his winning mentality.
"Do the players still have faith in Capello? Yes I think so. As a group altogether and the manager, we all took responsibility for what happened at the World Cup," he said.
"Now our job is to qualify for Euro 2012. It's been a pretty solid start."
England continue their qualification schedule for the European Championships with a game against Wales in Cardiff on Saturday (March 26th).
Fabio Capello's preparations for the game will have been boosted by the news that Wales' star winger Gareth Bale has had to pull out of the match with a hamstring injury.
