Elmohamady completes Sunderland switch

9th June 2011 - Alma Shera

Ahmed Elmohamady has now signed a permanent deal at Sunderland, ensuring that he will play football games for the team beyond his loan deal.

The Egypt international spent last season at the Stadium of Light after agreeing a loan deal from ENPPI.

During the 2010/2011 campaign, Elmohamady made 38 appearances for the club.

An option to buy the player for a pre-arranged fee was included in his loan agreement and now the midfielder has signed a contract until 2014.

Sunderland football manager Steve Bruce said: "Ahmed has done well in his first season with the club and has shown plenty of potential.

"We look forward to helping him grow as a player and I think there is much more to come from him."

This deal comes after Jordan Henderson agreed to swap Sunderland for Liverpool.

The English midfielder is set to discuss personal terms and complete a medical after a fee was determined for his signature.
