Edin Dzeko scores a brace in Aris Salonika Europa League football game

25th February 2011 - Chad Lazarus

Edin Dzeko opened his Europa League account last night, with a brace against Aris Salonika in Manchester City's second leg football game.

The Bosnian continues to justify his £27 million January move this January, with Manchester City cruising to a 3-0 win over their Greek opponents.

Another one of the Blue's newer signings, Yaya Toure, added a third to ease the team's passage to the last 16 of the competition.

Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko all started in last night's crucial second leg. However, football manager Roberto Mancini told fans not to expect the three stars to be unleashed alongside each other in every football game.

He explained: "The problem comes when we don't have the ball. If we don't close down every situation, it could be difficult for us.

"We can play this formation but not often, unless we improve."

Despite this admission, Mancini admitted that he had been pleased with his team's dominant performance.
