Chelsea football manager reveals loss of confidence
7th March 2011 - Alma Shera
Chelsea football manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his side was devoid of confidence during their recent barren run.
A number of poor performances from October onwards saw the Premier League's early pace-setters fall to fifth place and seemingly out of the title race.
Football manager Ancelotti says that the club's poor form really knocked the confidence from the side, but the recent win over Manchester United has gone a long way towards convincing the players that they can compete with the best again.
He said: "When you win against United, it means you're good enough to play against stronger teams.
"So this result obviously improves your confidence. The atmosphere is really good."
However, Ancelotti is keen to make sure that his players do not underestimate their opponents in their upcoming football games.
The Blues take on Blackpool tonight (March 7th) in the Premier League, before looking to defend a 2-0 first leg lead against Copenhagen in the Champions League on March 20th.
