Barcelona are better than in 2009, claims Man Utd football manager
27th May 2011 - Berko Tau
Manchester United football manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Barcelona are a more formidable side today than they were in the 2009 Uefa Champions League Final.
Speaking ahead of the 2011 football game final tomorrow, Sir Alex remained tight-lipped about how United's preparations had differed this year, compared to two years ago.
Barcelona managed a very convincing 2-0 victory over the Red Devils in Rome, and at the time Ferguson hinted that his side would be better prepared for any future meeting.
Sir Alex explained: "They've improved. They have more maturity about their team now. Winning that European Cup was a big step forward for them. This is a better side now."
Meanwhile, veteran midfielder Paul Scholes believes that the best two teams in Europe have made it to the final this year.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the 36-year-old added that United were more than capable of matching and beating the Catalans on their day.
