Arsene Wenger blames referee for defeat
7th March 2011 - Sigvard Magnus
Arsenal football manager Arsene Wenger was left fuming with referee Anthony Taylor and his assistants after his side drew 0-0 with Sunderland at the Emirates.
The officials disallowed an Andrey Arshavin goal for offside incorrectly, while the home side were denied a late penalty after Titus Bramble appeared to push the Russian playmaker over.
After the game, football manager Wenger said he was "disgusted" with Taylor's performance, and admitted that the draw was a dent to his side's title chances.
He added: "If you cancel goals for offside when it is not offside it is difficult to win football games.
"These kind of things have too big an impact on the Premier League and we are deeply disappointed."
Wenger also admitted that his side has been distracted by the upcoming Champions League game with Barcelona.
The Gunners hold a 2-1 lead from the first leg, but go into the match tomorrow (March 8th) without Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott through injury; captain Cesc Fabregas is also a doubt.
