No player revolt at Aston Villa, says Gary McAllister

Aston Villa assistant football manager Gary McAllister has insisted that there is now mutiny on the cards at Villa Park.

Various reports in the past week have suggested that new strict rules imposed by football manager Gerard Houllier have made senior players unhappy.

Performances on the pitch have reflected a side with low morale, with the club now sitting just one point above the Premier League relegation zone with eight football games left to play.

Conversely, Villa forwards Ashley Young and Darren Bent looked much sharper when playing a key role in England's 2-0 win against Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday (March 26th).

However, McAllister has said that the dressing room atmosphere is much the same as any other, while football manager Gerard Houllier has the backing of his players.

"I don't think there's any mutiny here," he told BBC Sport.

"There's been little arguments here and there but nothing outside the realms of what happens at most clubs."
