Football manager Roberto Mancini asks Balotelli to do more

2nd March 2011 - Chad Lazarus

Manchester City football manager Roberto Mancini has called on his striker Mario Balotelli to do more work in future soccer games.

The maverick Italian forward scored a classy goal against Fulham at Eastlands on Sunday, taking his Premier League tally to six goals in eight football games.

However, football manager Mancini felt that after scoring, the 20-year-old drifted out of the game and stopped trying quite so hard.

He said: "He scored a fantastic goal on Sunday but after this he should have continued to play for the team.

"It is important that all the players work in the defensive phase when we lose the ball."

After missing two months of football games with a knee injury, Mancini accepts that Balotelli will be tired, but expects more effort when he is out on the pitch.

Balotelli will have a chance to put things right when his side takes on Aston Villa in the FA Cup fifth round tonight (March 2nd) at Eastlands.
