Football manager Capello pleased with Ghana experience

England football manager Fabio Capello was delighted that the match against Ghana last night (March 30th) was not a typical friendly.

The African side was strong, featuring eight of the team that lost in the World Cup quarter-final to Uruguay last summer, and the visitors pressed and tackled with vigour.

Football manager Capello was pleased at the level of intensity in the game as it allowed the new faces in his team to get some valuable international experience.

He said: "It was an exciting game, a fast game, a really important game for the fans to know some players who never played.

"It was also interesting for me to know the value of these players to play here at Wembley in a senior shirt," he said.

Capello recently accused Real Madrid football manager Jose Mourinho of disrespect, after the latter claimed in an interview with French magazine L'Equipe that he had been offered the England manager's position before Capello.
