Arsenal's Gervinho 'did not hesitate' to join the Gunners

11th July 2011 - Alma Shera

New Arsenal signing Gervinho has revealed that he had absolutely no hesitation about agreeing to work under football manager Arsene Wenger in his young Gunners side.

The 24-year-old Ivory Coast striker joined Arsenal from Lille after negotiations over a contract reached a satisfactory conclusion.

Gervinho, who scored 15 goals to help Lille to the French title, has not joined the Gunners on their Asia tour and has instead been sent home to spend some time with his family.

The youngster claimed: "I had no hesitation. None. But in a transfer there's always a period of analysis and negotiations.

"I'm going there to play, not to be on the bench. Arsenal love the game and I love teams that love the game."

Full-back Carl Jenkinson is Arsene Wenger's other big signing for the summer, who joins from Charlton Athletic.
