Peter Beardsley spent a year at Manchester United in the 82/83 season making only one appearance in a League Cup tie against Bournemouth. After a brief second spell at Vancouver Whitecaps and his first stint at Newcastle, Beardsley went to Liverpool scoring 46 goals in 131 games before a controversial move to the blue half of Merseyside.
After a triumphant return to Newcastle and a handful of appearances at Bolton Peter Beardsley had a brief loan spell at Manchester City, completing the full set of Manchester and Merseyside clubs.
